Date: 05/10/2012 Convocation of Engineering Students
Early in the morning, I woke up for attending a morning class from 8-10am. Honestly, I never find the morning class enjoyable, instead I find my eyelids both very heavy and suffering to keep them open through out the lecture. This morning, I managed to keep them fully open during the statistic class, as it is familiar like Form 6 mathematics. I found it comprehensive enough to understand. However, at the same time, I was worrying about the situation at DTC. I worried that 11th CC didn't get prepared well at DTC. Hence, I did call the person in charge to take action in order to avoid some problems. When I reached the place after leaving from the lecture, I found that the situation of the convocation was totally chaos especially at the place that all Chinese gathered. Those Chinese are Engineering supporter, Residential Colleges supporters and also the Society of Engineering supporters who came to congratulate their honorable seniors. They were making noise and cheers while waiting for the seniors to come out from the ceremony.
There were people holding their designed banners of different sizes and different positions in order to attract the attention of seniors. In this uncontrollable situation, I just sneakingly mixed in the crowds and eventually found myself hard to make a stand while there were actually several different groups asking me to join them. Those are PKUM - Engineering Society, Civil Engineering, and 11th Residential College Chinese Community. Finally, I had no choice but to support 11th College Chinese Community, as I ought to do so.
After waiting for a long time, most of us spoiled our throat seriously by making noise and cheers. We sweated a lot as people were standing too close over small place. Finally, we saw many seniors coming out from the hall. Spontaneously, we asked them to come and took away their specs, mobile phones, wallets, and watches, then we started to throw them high to the air. Civil Engineering students were crazy enough by throwing the seniors exactly like a car's whipper. It was exciting and crazy, but effective to make the day more memorable in our seniors' lives. I am proud of being one of them!!
I didn't expect so much, just sincerely hope they can enjoy and appreciate what we have done for them. It is a tiring day which made me unable to focus on my evening practical class. However, the memory does matter for today and also the future.
